Mr. Tom Turner is a Senior Operations Research Analyst at CANA Advisors. Mr. Turner is responsible for eliciting and then meeting clients’ analytical needs. He possesses a wide technical and experience base, including modeling and simulation, test and evaluation, data analysis, and defense systems acquisition. His background has developed exceptional communication skills, complex problem-solving abilities, and in-depth analytic experience. Mr. Turner has a proven ability to work efficiently and effectively as a team member as well as a team leader. 

While on active duty in the Marine Corps, Mr. Turner served as an operations research analyst supporting the Marine Corps Combat Development Command. In that position, he worked as an integrated member of a government-contractor analysis team, conducting modeling and simulation of current and future systems and concepts in support of the combat requirements development process. In this role, he provided operational insights and ensured the analytical rigor of the studies produced. He conducted several stand-alone analyses on emerging concepts. 

Since leaving active duty he has supported several Department of Defense organizations, including Marine Corps Systems Command, Deputy Commandant for Installations and Logistics, and the Defense Suicide Prevention Office. Supporting the Marine Corps Systems Command he developed a discrete event simulation for Total Life Cycle Management (TLCM) analysis of ground weapons systems as well as logistics cost and readiness analysis documentation for over a dozen weapon systems. In his work with the Defense Suicide Prevention Office, he gathered and analyzed enterprise-level metrics related to various aspects of suicide prevention and modeled survival curves of service members who had attempted suicide. He currently provides analytical support to the development of the Marine Corps War Reserve Suite of Apps. This development effort will create an analytically supported web app to replace the existing aging and manpower-intensive War Reserve System.
