Brian Morgan
Principal Operations Research Analyst
Brian joins our team with 30 years of experience as a naval flight officer, including six years as an applied operations research analyst on the Navy headquarters staff and two and a half years as a military faculty member in the Operations Research Department at the Naval Postgraduate School.
Brian is a Principal Operations Research Analyst responsible for providing management, modeling and simulation development, solution integration, and analysis support using the analysis life cycle. In addition, he leads small, multi-disciplinary teams of analysts, subject matter experts, software developers, and data analysts to develop and deliver analytics-based solutions across a range of commercial and government clients and functional use areas.
He completed over 3,500 flight hours in the E-2C Hawkeye performing command and control functions in support of carrier strike group operations in the CENTCOM and INDO-PACOM areas of responsibility. Brian served as Commanding Officer, VAW-117, embarked USS NIMITZ (CVN-68).
Brian holds a Master of Science in Operations Research from the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California, and a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Virginia. He served as the 55TH President of the Military Operations Research Society and continues to serve the Society in multiple leadership roles.

Cliff Carpenter
Principal Logistics Analyst
Team CANA would like to welcome Cliff Carpenter, our newest Principal Logistics Analyst! Cliff is a proud 20-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. After retiring from the Marine Corps, Cliff followed his active-duty Marine wife, Charlotte, to Italy where she was the only female military defense attaché and Cliff was the only male in the spouse’s club! Upon returning from Italy, Cliff worked as a Senior Operations Manager in eCommerce fulfillment both for Amazon and Chewy for 5 years. Cliff is a U.S. Naval Academy graduate with a master’s degree in Military Science and Operational Planning gained while a student at the U.S. Marine Corps Command and Staff College. When not at work or asleep, Cliff is outside with Charlotte and two daughters, Aiden and Autumn, and is an amateur chess fanatic.
