CANA Senior Operations Research Analyst Mark Raffetto has a mission: to integrate multi-disciplinary leadership, technical innovation, and subject matter expertise to redefine defense logistics. As the Chief Data Scientist and Technical Team Lead on a project developing comprehensive logistics tool suites in support of DoW clients, Mark is helping to shape the next generation of military logistical operations.
By leading a team that comprises Software Developers, Operations Research Analysts, Data Scientists, and Subject Matter Experts, Mark oversees a feedback loop that handles everything from initial code refinement to the creation of field-ready decision aids. The obvious truth is that modern technical challenges cannot be solved in silos: true innovation requires end-to-end technical integration.

Mark and his team design and create decision aids that integrate detailed, automated planning inputs such as force structure, equipment, supplies, lift assets, time and location network dynamics to an unprecedented level of detail. One of Mark’s focus efforts has been on the data amelioration process - an objective, defendable, repeatable, and traceable cleaning and validation pipeline that ensures unprecedented data fidelity and accuracy across the DoW. The team provides clients with modeling and visualizations they can actually trust for service-level decision-making.

Materiel Analysis Toolset: A logistics toolset designed for detailed requirements generation and sourcing to the NIIN level across all Classes of Supply from rations to weapon systems and vehicles down to the spare parts and consumables needed over time.
Air Capacity Estimation Tool: A high level dynamic graphic viewing tool for referencing cargo and passenger movement using various transportation assets.
