Over 25 years of analytics and logistics subject matter experience in delivering analytics and information-based solutions to support complex problems. Mr. Reitter’s primary career focus has been on using a combination of data, math, and visualization to support decisions with an information and analytics focus specifically using operations research methods to support decision-focused modeling and simulation development and to support analysis (statistical analysis, various forms of simulation development, applied optimization, etc).
Early in his career, as a U.S. Marine Corps Logistics Officer, Mr. Reitter focused on applying management and leadership principles to provide logistics support to a diverse set of missions ranging from organizational logistics problems (embarkation, maintenance management, hazardous material and waste management, safety, food services) to landing support and maritime prepositioning support (helicopter support teams, arrival and departure airfield control group, beach landings, port and terminal operations, engineering and construction).
Through his combined career in the U.S. Marine Corps and in Industry, Mr. Reitter has supported a variety of clients with the most appropriate analytic methods including quantitative risk management for deployed NATO logistics support contracts in Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, for all branches of the U.S. Military, and including the Defense Logistics Agency and U.S. Transportation Command. In addition to providing quantitative analysis support to a range of logistics decisions, Mr. Reitter has also worked with commercial and academic partners to transfer their technologies and methods to support logistics modernization programs. Mr. Reitter has been applying mathematical modeling methods and decision support techniques for the majority of his career and briefing results to a variety of audiences including unit level leaders to senior officers in higher headquarter organizations.
Mr. Reitter maintains awareness and practice of analytic best practices through routine participation in and presentation at National conferences of the Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences (INFORMS) and the Military Operations Research Society (MORS). Mr. Reitter is a MORS Past President and Chair of the INFORMS Analytics Capability Evaluation (ACE) Committee. Mr. Reitter stays active in delivering courses on Analytics Project Management and Specialized Tools in Operations Research.
