His focus areas include supply chain and operations management, wargaming, transportation management, repair parts forecasting, maintenance management, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementation.
Mr. Fincher managed several major analysis projects including a service wide study to validate logistics sustainment planning metrics. He also authored a concept for distributed operational logistics that was validated through service level wargames and was widely influential on emerging Marine Corps doctrine.
Mr. Fincher’s Marine Corps career included multiple overseas deployments where he served in a variety of logistics coordination, management, and execution roles. He oversaw the redesign of deployed supply processes for shipboard Marine units that became standard practice for Marine Expeditionary Unit deployments. He is widely recognized as an expert in several DoD logistics disciplines and regularly contributes to the AMCL professional blog. Mr. Fincher’s masters work included studies on the implementation of Global Combat Service Support – Marine Corps (GCSS-MC) and thesis work on comparing and assessing supply performance metrics.
