Cherish has over 20 years of leadership and logistics experience in various capacities as a motor transport and a logistics officer in the Marine Corps. She served as logistics officer with Combat Service Support Group-3, Marine Wing Support Squadron-171, Marine Air Group-12, and Marine Corps Forces Pacific Headquarters Battalion, among others, supporting daily operations and exercises such as Cloud Warrior, Crocodile, Ulchi Focus Lens (UFL), Reception, Staging, Onward Movement and Integration (RSO&I) and Cobra Gold. Cherish has specialized proficiency in personnel recruitment, having worked at several levels of Marine Corps and joint recruiting efforts, to include serving as Officer Selection Officer, Assistant for Officer Procurement, Recruiting District S-4, and as the commander of a joint Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) for the Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio regions. After the Marine Corps, she spent several years in civilian leadership roles, taking a special interest in human resources administration, marketing, and corporate growth.
Education and Certificates
Cherish has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Russian and East European Studies from the University of Michigan and a Master of Professional Studies degree in Community and Economic Development from Pennsylvania State University.
She is a graduate of the Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School and Command and Staff College.
